Church Covenant

Our shared commitments to God and to one another as a congregation.

Having been led by the Spirit of God to repent of our sins and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, and having publicly confessed our faith through baptism in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, we now, in the presence of God and this congregation, joyfully and solemnly covenant together as one body in Christ.

1. Our Commitment to God

We covenant to love, worship, and obey God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, seeking to glorify Him in every area of life.

(Matthew 22:37; 1 Corinthians 10:31)

2. Our Commitment to One Another

We covenant to walk together in Christian love, humility, unity, and forgiveness, bearing one another’s burdens and encouraging one another in the faith.

(John 13:34–35; Galatians 6:2)

3. Our Commitment to the Church

We covenant to support the ministry and mission of this church through faithful attendance, prayer, service, and the use of our spiritual gifts for the building up of the body of Christ.

(Hebrews 10:24–25; 1 Peter 4:10)

4. Our Commitment to Biblical Truth

We covenant to uphold the teachings of God’s Word, to preserve the purity of the gospel, and to submit ourselves to biblical instruction and church discipline.

(2 Timothy 3:16–17; Acts 2:42)

5. Our Commitment to Holy Living

We covenant to live godly lives before the world, pursuing holiness, integrity, purity, and faithfulness, while turning away from sinful practices that dishonor Christ and hinder our witness.

(1 Peter 1:15–16; Ephesians 4:29–32)

6. Our Commitment to Family and Devotion

We covenant to maintain personal and family devotions, to pray regularly, and to teach our children and households according to the Word of God.

(Deuteronomy 6:6–7; Joshua 24:15)

7. Our Commitment to Giving and Service

We covenant to give cheerfully and faithfully of our time, abilities, and resources for the support of the ministry, the care of the needy, and the spread of the gospel to all nations.

(2 Corinthians 9:6–8; Matthew 28:19–20)

8. Our Commitment to Gospel Witness

We covenant to seek the salvation of our family, friends, neighbors, and the nations by sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with love and boldness.

(Acts 1:8; Romans 10:13–15)

9. Our Commitment to Mutual Care

We covenant to pray for one another, care for one another in times of sickness and distress, pursue reconciliation quickly, and preserve the unity and peace of the church.

(James 5:16; Ephesians 4:1–3)

10. Our Commitment to Christ’s Return

We covenant to encourage one another with the blessed hope of the return of our Lord Jesus Christ and to live faithfully until He comes.

(Titus 2:13; 1 Thessalonians 4:16–18)

11. Our Commitment Wherever God Leads

We covenant that if we move from this place, we will unite with another faithful church where we may continue to live according to the spirit of this covenant and the truth of God’s Word. If no such church exists, we will seek, by God’s grace, to help establish one.

(Hebrews 10:24–25; Titus 1:5)

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit enable us to keep this covenant faithfully for the glory of God. Amen.
